TANYA D. RUSSELL
A native New Yorker, my love for style and fashion began at an early age, with my father as my inspiration. He always had an eye for style and was an avid shopper who knew how to purchase quality clothing at affordable prices. His fashion sense influenced me, and after graduating high school, I attended the renowned Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, where I studied fashion buying and merchandising.
I worked in buying and retail for over 15 years, including at major retail brands like Lord & Taylor, Express, and Burlington Coat Factory, where I served as an assistant buyer for women’s and junior sportswear. Most rewardingly, I worked as a manager at Macy’s flagship store on 34th street in New York City. Today, I work full-time in the corporate world of commercial banking while pursuing my dream of being an entrepreneur.

One of my most rewarding achievements, outside of being a mother, is graduating from Shaw University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management, at the age of 50. I wholeheartedly believe it's never too late to start again.

My relationship with Jesus Christ is my lifeline and has kept me moving forward through difficult times. A young single mother at the age of 18, then going through a traumatic divorce, I was determined to turn my pain and disappointments into stepping stones to my purpose. Through my passion to encourage, empower, and build confidence in women, young and old alike, by sharing my life’s journey, I believe I have found my true calling. In August of 2022, I became a first-time author of a book anthology entitled "Words of Wisdom For The Heart and Soul." This Book and Journal is a compilation of life lessons and insights from 36 women of influence who share their testimonies of triumph, healing, and release to help inspire and guide you as you navigate through life. We all have a story to tell!

I currently reside in Suffolk, VA, and I am now happily married to my "gentle giant," as I like to call him, Vincent Russell, who loved my heart back to life. I am blessed to be the mother of two beautiful and talented daughters, Chanel and JoVanni, who are the wind beneath my wings. My love for fashion over the years has earned me the title of "stylist" among my family and friends, who often call on me to shop and style them. I am now fulfilling one of my lifelong dreams as the founder and CEO of Styles By ChaVanni LLC, a women’s styling service and boutique. I am incredibly excited to have you here with me and can’t wait to meet, sip coffee, share testimonies, and get FABulous with you!
